So instead of just having a nice subtable of related items, you have to create the subtable, re-relate it via a filter, then if you create items in the embedded dB, go back and add all the attributes again Manually (I'm talking about if you are in a db and you add in a new related item in that embed - templates aren't available there).įibery has a long way to go, but these are the three tools ai tend to move between. You can't group by relations, and you can't create any of the embedded db views, maybe my favorite feature of Notion, without manual work. And to some extent relations are cumbersome. Sure, you can set all that up by customizing Fields, but then you have to be diligent about staying on top of your Notion Instance. There is no native "due date," or "default status," which are essential to any basic task management. Notion is most lacking I've always found in the Task Management department. ![]() The only way you can do this is if your Companies are folders, which is not useful if you really want some more complex workflow like having your companies with various statuses, related to one another, a hierarchy, etc. It is hard to set up any data structure, like a simple CRM where you have a list of Companies, and their related tasks, in ClickUp. ![]() ClickUp's structure is so rigid, in fact inferior even to Asana And Wrike which at least have a notion of a "Project" and multi-homing. It is a tool that needs a lot of enhancements around the rough edges, but I thought it bridged some of what's missing in both: While I was trying to decide between these two, dabbling in Coda a bit but always coming back to Notion in favor of it, I discovered later last year fibery.io. Use Case: Project management, small team, CRM, software development. Interesting discussion and I have been torn between these tools for about 1 1/2 yrs.
